Tidal Pool is inspired by my childhood. Growing up my dad had a food truck by the beach which I spent a lot of time at. That beach had tidal pools which are pools of water that are caught by the rocks as the tide goes down past them. Often times I would find many creatures inside. I was obsessed with these and even to this day I can get lost in the different pools around the islands and the little worlds which they create. 
 
The patterns represent the way the light hits the bottom sand while being refracted through the ripples on the water above. Sometimes hermit crabs and snails will also draw lines through the sand as the explore their new environment. The dark and overlapping areas are where the various little fishes will normally hide.
